What I have in mind is a simple UI, similar to what "Toggle all additional
widgets" does, but with a status bar - I believe that's useful. It's actually
interesting that the status bar has no toggle option in the View menu (Geany
1.38).

What's interesting is that going to `Preferences`->`Interface` I found that
`Show status bar` was toggled on after I toggled "all additional widgets". So I
toggled `Show status bar` off and clicked `Apply`, then toggled it back ok and
clicked `Apply`, and I got the status bar back in the IDE. It looks like an
unintended feature. :)

Anyway, I believe that _"Toggle all additional widgets"_ could be renamed to
"Simple Interface" and placed at the top of the View menu along with "Full
Interface", so "normies" _(like mom and grandma)_ don't have to guess what
widgets are, and quickly access these two options without having to go through
half the menu for them.

Yeah, the fact that the sidebar stays there is a bit weird. Maybe this and the
status bar issue constitute a good enough reason to introduce the simple/full
view options by replacing the existing toggle.
