Funny that this is at the top of the Discussions list with a post about GTK4 :)

I have heard that GTK2 has now been removed from most Arch based repositories.
I personally am using Debian based system so this does not apply to users yet
but I do not know if Debian plans on supporting GTK2 in the future?
(Next Debian stable release is about a year and a half away).

If Debian makes decision to stop supporting GTK2 in the future, I was wondering
if there are any plans on how this would be handled in Geany?

`Geany`
I know Geany uses GTK3 (and there are talks about upgrading to GTK4) but are
there any parts still using GTK2?

`Geany Plugins`
For me this is an area of concern because it appears that plugins are still
using GTK2. It has been mentioned that the main approach of Geany is to offer
a base application and then have everything extra be available only through
plugins.
I personally rely on many of them, for example
-TreeBrowser
-GeanyLua
-Addons
-Spellcheck
etc.

Some of these plugins are providing a great deal of functionality to Geany (at
least for me), so the concern would be if at some point they no longer are
available.
I was wondering how GTK2 based plugins will be handled (if at all) in the
future?

Thank you to anyone who reads this
