Hi! I did some experimentation with this new interface (with `ChunkMode`). It works but is not flawless. You are right @alamb , we should move on with this PR the way it is currently implemented (with `get_read(&self, start: u64, length: usize)`), and we'll discuss the other possibility in a dedicated thread. @sunchao I have responded to all your comments.
