   Yes, it's expected that verification passes without the 'arrow' R package 
(although some extra tests will run if it is installed and those should pass as 
well). If you did want to install the latest arrow R package version you could 
probably do so with `NOT_CRAN=true ARROW_USE_PKG_CONFIG=false R -e 
'install.packages("arrow")'`.
   
   Strange that a previous version required `sudo` to remove!
