@alamb Test data suitable for this change is not present in `testing`. So I'm planning to add a [test data](https://github.com/sarutak/arrow-testing/blob/nested-records/data/avro/nested_records.avro) to [arrow-testing](https://github.com/apache/arrow-testing) if this change seems good, and merged. And then, will open a followup PR to add test to [avro.slt](https://github.com/apache/arrow-datafusion/blob/main/datafusion/sqllogictest/test_files/avro.slt).
