I don't think this is an issue as we check if it is already installed (and this is active on the linux build as well ...). We can move over to use the recommended envvars to make sure we find it on cran. Removing that functionality would probably lead to annoying issues for people on older linux systems that (mainly centos7 I guess?) don't have 3.16. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
