OK, I read Section 5 a few times and I think I have an idea on how we can improve it. Section 5's current structure isn't in sync with Figure 2, which may pose a challenge for some readers (like me) while following the exposition. Maybe we can organize the narration to first discuss the highest level systems/stages (following Figure 2), and then organize various other components/subsystems under these top level systems.
