   I also agree...there are some options if this becomes a problem, but I don't 
think anything should be added from the producer side.
   
   I think the ability to experiment with this in a released version of pyarrow 
(16.0.0) for the next few months is much more valuable than getting the perfect 
set of initial keyword arguments, which can be finalized when the protocol 
methods come out of an EXPERIMENTAL state.
