The arrow-julia community is also relatively small and has a separate repo,
they might also have some advice. I think it would be good if you can get some
support from a PMC or two (as Kou did for julia) with regards to the releases
etc.. For merging PRs it would be the same as within the monorepo but hopefully
you are right and some additional contributors could be attracted. Maybe you
already know someone that is interested?

Ok thanks for clarifying! So that's more an inconvenience than a real
obstacle to use it.
