the benchmarks look closer for `roundtrip/variable` on my local machine than it is when @adriangbot runs them. <img width="1758" height="1702" alt="Image 6-4-26 at 8 42 PM" src="https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/4f8e6eca-8a8e-4424-a808-3898f6d1d468"; /> its hard to verify whats causing improvements/regressions when my local benchmarks are showing different characteristics. updated the PR, can we run the benchmarks again?
