Agree. Think we could simply add filter warnings in Python and not deal with C++ changes at all. We could also split the tests that are running on older versions of numpy to pre-versioned and versioned case (if that is not covered already) and simply, as mentioned, filter the warnings. As for the Python deprecation and C++ not implemented error combo, we could also keep it as is for a while if we see the removal of unversioned code could be done soon?
