This message comes from the Hadoop Java client (`org.apache.hadoop.hdfs.DFSClient`) running inside the JVM that libhdfs starts, not from Arrow. Arrow's HDFS filesystem only wraps libhdfs and has no way to intercept the JVM's log output, and Arrow never issues zero-length reads that would plausibly trigger it. Upstream Hadoop's `DFSClient` doesn't log a bare "zero", so this looks like a vendor or patched Hadoop build. The usual way to silence it is via `log4j.properties` (set the `org.apache.hadoop.hdfs.DFSClient` logger to ERROR) or `HADOOP_ROOT_LOGGER`, both of which libhdfs picks up from the Hadoop configuration. Closing as not an Arrow issue. If you can share which Hadoop distribution and version produced it, that would be worth reporting to them. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
