Ah yeah it doesn't look like the `branch` field is supposed to reference a commit directly. I tested this and it doesn't cause immediate errors, but `git submodule update --remote` gave me: `fatal: Unable to find refs/remotes/origin/56653c437c8092f704a092d0d1d4e600124cd49f revision in submodule path 'parquet-testing'` -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
