The integration workflow starts tests as soon as the load balancer has an IP, which can precede an HTTP response from InfluxDB. Scheduled runs have failed connecting to that endpoint ([example](https://github.com/apache/beam/actions/runs/39368790366)). Probe `/ping` before passing the endpoint to Gradle. Use bounded retries for connection refusal, timeouts, and transient HTTP errors so setup waits for a response or fails before the tests start. Validated the extracted workflow step with real curl against a local HTTP service, including delayed startup, transient errors, and an already-ready endpoint. Permanent failure was checked with a reduced retry window. YAML and Bash syntax checks pass; the live GKE workflow still needs validation. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
