We slightly touched this topic in https://github.com/apache/datafusion/issues/21034 in terms how to reduce number of backports. This is how Apache Spark handles backports https://spark.apache.org/versioning-policy.html prioritizing only security, correctness issues. In this specific release referring to > I confirm that after that last batch of backports datafusion-distributed is green now the stability of downstream project bring some backport load.
