Recording this as done: the snapshot it set out to capture is in the description and its two addenda (final figures: Comet 0.17.0 200.5 s vs Ballista 236.2 s at SF100 on local disk, one executor per node). Benchmark methodology and the current result set now live in the Contributors Guide, so cross-engine numbers have a maintained home rather than being recorded per-issue: https://datafusion.apache.org/ballista/contributors-guide/benchmarking.html That page carries a fresh SF1000 four-way run (vanilla Spark 3.5.3, Comet 0.17.0, Ballista with the adaptive planner on and off), pinned to the exact commit it was produced from.
