@viirya #6773 is merged and this branch now includes it, so the fanout blocker is resolved. The upgrade-guide paragraph from your thread now says a fanout write closes partitions instead of failing (9e5a8be38), and I replied there. `run-all-spark-profiles` is still on, so CI is running every profile on this head.
