Right, I’ve reduced this PR to forwarding the existing setting and checking
compatibility with the taxi dataset. I removed the custom I/O counter,
byte-reduction assertion, synthetic fixture, and shared harness extensions.
Scan metrics and performance assertions can be handled separately.
