@milenkovicm @andygrove @comphead I've updated this PR to cover only the materialize and read paths. If a running query loses cache data while reading it, the query now fails cleanly, and a retry rebuilds the cache. To keep this PR small, I'll handle recovery (rebuild and resume) in a separate PR, together with its chaos tests. The design doc still describes that approach. Please take a look when you can.
