For what its worth - the only non-datafusion usage of this function I could find on github is in a [project](https://github.com/datafusion-contrib/datafusion-tokomak) that wasn't active for over three years. I'll push a commit with a deprecation + created a copy of the function for tests and gave `AvroSource` its own site, that way we can delete it whenever, not sure what the deprecation policy is, @alamb obviously feel free to drop that commit if you think its unnecessary. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
