We're getting more requests per second and don't have the app instances to handle them - most of what you're doing is just waiting for an available instance. As such, we're in the process of adding more instances today. We've also been working for quite a while on a bigger re-architecture to help remove our dependency on GFS (which is a big growing pain). We plan to move to beefier servers and roll out the new sharded backend really soon. I wish I had a timeframe for you guys.
