Carlos, just to add my 5 cents to it... I was strugling with gitorious for a month to get it working with vagrant, chef and ruby under Debian... There was alway something broken, like wrong gem version etc. Finally, I spoke to one of my friends and he suggested to try GitLabHQ, which they use in their company internally for code hosting. It was said on this list that Gitorious is much mature. But after my evaluation I came to the following conclusion: o GitLabHQ has much more features (Issue Manager, Hooks) o released on monthly basis and makes a very stable impression. o Doing the steps described here: https://github.com/gitlabhq/gitlabhq_install made it immediately work in vagrant Debian VM. o Everything I tried was very stable o Workflows are easy to understand and work great o Just installed one of the latest Rubys (1.9.3-xxx) with RVM and it worked Now I just write a cookbook (which is half-ready) and should work with RVM. So if you still need some offline git hosting it might be a worth looking at. Sorry for possible offtopic and advertisement of competing product...
