Do you mean having a button there which switches the "Right" view to commit-view and keeps the Sidebar where it is? Seeing the vertical layout of this thing reminds me of something I started a while back: Vertical split-view for the history. With monitors being much wider than high, I bet a lot of GitX-users waste space because their code is not that wide. So a general "switch layout to vertical" thing would be nice (certainly something I'd use).
