Do you mean having a button there which switches the "Right" view > to commit-view and keeps the Sidebar where it is?
I mean having an item in the list which, when clicked, switches you to the commit view. It would be kinda like how in iTunes, when you press the "iTunes store" item, the view switches to the store. The same thing also happens in iPhoto. However, most of these programs don't call them "Actions" but just describe what happens there. I'm not sure if there would be a better term in GitX that we can use for the commit view. Here's a quick snapshot of what I mean: http://ss.frim.nl/==f6X0sB The "Commit" thing of course should have a different icon, and indent more, but this is the basic idea. > Seeing the vertical layout of this thing reminds me of something I > started a while back: Vertical split-view for the history. So a general "switch layout to > vertical" thing would be nice (certainly something I'd use). Hmm, I'd think it shouldn't be that hard to force a splitview to render in the opposite direction, but I'm not sure if that's really true :)
