1) Institute for International Economics
The Institute for International Economics is a private, nonprofit US
research institution devoted to the study of international economic policy.
In addition to a rich publications catalog (entire book chapters can be
downloaded) and a hot issues section, the site also includes very
interesting policy briefs. An excellent site. Do not miss the Strategies for
the new century.

2) Economy.com
Economy.com is a leading provider of economic, financial, and industry
research designed to meet the information needs of business organizations,
governments, and professional and personal investors worldwide. Despite its
obvious commercial focus, it offers a lot of interesting free information
particularly a comprehensive database of economic, industry, financial, and
demographic data.

3) European Institute of Geoeconomics
The European Institute of Geoeconomics is an independent research center
dedicated to the analysis of geoeconomics issues, its mission being the
study of international economic strategies, related power struggles, as well
as resulting conflicts and emerging new problematics. Interesting site
although limited. Do not miss the section on other sites.

4) Livelihoods Connect
This website from the Department for International Development (DFID)
presents their approach to creating sustainable livelihoods in order to
eliminate poverty. It includes guidance sheets, distance learning materials,
key documents and a sustainable livelihoods toolbox, all of which available
for download. Although not directly focused on community development per se
it is a very interesting and useful site.

5) Social Capital for Development
Social capital is defined as the norms and social relations embedded in the
social structures of societies that enable people to coordinate action to
achieve desired goals. This World Bank's site presents in a comprehensive
manner this essential concept for community development.

6) Community Development Venture Capital Alliance
CDVCA promotes use of venture capital to create jobs, entrepreneurial
capacity and wealth to advance the livelihoods of low-income people and the
economies of distressed communities. Interesting concept although not much
free information is available on the web site. Do not miss the section on
new markets legislation.

7) Management Best Practice
Produced by the British Department of Trade and Industry this site provides
access to a range of information and services designed to help companies
improve their business performance through management best practices,
techniques and technologies. In addition to information on government
programs it also leads to best practice guides, tools and publications which
can be downloaded in pdf format. A very good site.

8) Productivity Futures
This Productivity Portal presents tools, tips and techniques related to
productivity improvements as well as conference reports and papers from the
World Productivity Congress. Do not miss the book reviews and the list of
productivity links.

9) ManagementFirst.com
ManagementFirst.com is a management portal which provides content,
resources, expertise, and links in specific niche areas of management theory
and practice. Although a commercial site through its publishing arm, it
includes lots of free interesting information.

10) Mpost
Mpost defines itsetlf as the "Portal of Trade Portals". It includes a
mailing board which lists offers to sell &/or buy and a very limited
products showroom. Its best part is the link with other Trade Portals.
