There are far greater advances in productivity and IT (education, governance, development) to come from wireless IP communications than what we've derived through desktop computing. The applications meant to reside on the network will determine it's hardware and architecture. A large number of low-cost IP access devices are on the horizon; the problem remains the commercial cost for access to local-loop networks. Government should allot wireless spectrum to not-for-profits so they may affordably provide necessary (basic) IP applications.
