Hi all,
I really need to know good reasons to use or not glade for my project.
My project is anything like a simulation of physical phenomena with
OpenGL/MesaGL. It requires good performance (maybe Java is not a good
choice) and portability would be very desirable.
As I cant do it with Java, I first thought to use C++, MesaGL and a
graphical toolkit like GTK only for Linux, forgetting for a while the
portability. But some friends tell me that portability is very very
desirable because this project has educational purposes and most people
use windows(arrrgh).
These things are important to me now in this order:
1-Power on calculations
2-MesaGL/OpenGL
3-Portability
I think i can get all this things with Qt, it“s easy to use, quick,
portable (windows/Linux) and has a support to MesaGL/OpenGL, but i dont
like it because of some reasons! It“s not GPL and the windows version is
not free.
Does anyone have reason to think that there“s a way to make Java a good
solution? (I would be happy if yes)
Does anyone know if GTK is portable to windows? If yes (I would be very
happy), i would like to use C++ and GTK--. How can i learn to do it?
Does anyone know another solution? I“ve heard of other toolkits and a
port of a wrapper of Xlib to windows.
Thanx
