Hi, John, I'm Marco.
I was (and I'm still) working on this issue.
I'm working on a IDE (it's name is IDEntify) and, as I had wrote on this
mailing list many months ago, I'm planning to add some sort of interaction
between my IDE and Glade.
The real problem is that currently I'm really busy with my real life
job, so IDEntify is temporarily on hold. I had prepared a draft for an
interface I can export from IDEntify to Glade to allow Glade to ask for
addition/removal of files from the project, and another one to be added to
Glade to export few methods to allow IDEntify to ask what .glade files the
user want to edit.
This way, IDEntify (or any other IDE which makes use of the given
idl) can interact with glade (or with any other UI builder).
I hope to be able to restart my work on this issue ASAP. I was planning
few modifications to glade, too, since I need to add the ability to handle
multiple .glade files, one per window/dialog/top level widget, as
well as to use external compilers for its code generation. Of course, I've
seen your effort in this direction, so I think I'll try your approach
before going any other way. (I still have your old thread on the source
generation at hand, I just haven't found the time to write a full
reply... :-(
BTW, I think I can send you an example of the IDL I was thinking of by
tomorrow, since I have it somewhere at home.
bye,
MP.

What about a nice play of chess ?
