tar checksum error

When I bring  down the ghc-2.02-sparc-sun-solaris2.tar.gz file (yes in
binary mode) and do  gunzip < ghc-2.02-sparc-sun-solaris2.tar.gz | tar xf -
I get a tar:directory checksum error message and I am missing a lot
of the files.  I cannot find any problem at this end, could I trouble
you to check the gz file.
