Well this is bizarre - since this was a binary installation! So they seem
to be distributing a '-DDEBUG on' version binary as:
ghc-4.04-i386-unknown-linux-glibc2.1.tar.gz
perhaps.
I've just noticed there's a binary RPM for 4.04 so I'll give that a go.
