I'm still puzzled by all this but, in case you missed it,
GHC support will be pretty low till 6th March. (Hols, ICFP
deadline.)
If you want a working win32 build, I'd use the InstallShield
download of GHC 4.04. I know that works -- it's the one I use
on Win32.
