This website has been down for days, so while I tried to respond, there
was no way to do so other than via IRC, which I did. Checking every single
day whether the system already works in a polling way is a waste of time
 for me.

Anyway, I get this on Ubuntu 9.10 without any special configuration.

The bug is simply in some code which searches for _GLOBAL_OFFSET_TABLE_
and uses existing object files as an optimization. If before every use
first all object files would be deleted, then this bug would not exist. It
would be terribly slow, but it would be correct.

I tried to reproduce a minimal case, but I failed in doing so. I would say
that it happens once every month or so.

So, marking this as invalid, simply because I didn't respond (which I
did), would be wrong also for the simple matter that ghci produced a
message, which it should not create, unless you think I am making this
stuff up, in which case I should better just stop writing bug reports.
