Me too, on Windows 7, GHC 7.0.3, Haskell Platform 2001.2.0.1.
Same procedure and result:
darcs get http://code.haskell.org/Euterpea
cd Euterpea
cabal install
GHC goes into apparently infinite loop after printing this last message:
