GHC doesn't really do any data flow analysis (unless you count strictness
analysis). What did you have in mind?
Yes, you can certainly reuse the front end. You should start by grabbing
the current 2.04 sources, reading the "building-and-installation" manual,
and building a complete compiler. Then you're ready to start hacking!
