I read the slate.com article 3 days ago and got really excited and read all about measuring PD, and got my 1 year old subscription faxed to me. The glasses made from that prescription got stolen about a month after I got them and I've been wearing my old pair for 3 years now. I didn't get new ones because the replacement cost without insurance came to $714, which is obscene.
My prescription is strong (O.D. -7.75 - - & O.S. -8.25 -.50 180), so I was worried it would be hard to find new that didn't give me a headache (the reason my glasses got stolen is because I was wearing the old ones most of the time while I got used to the new ones). Anyway, I ordered last night, and forgot to enter my PD = 65mm. I immediately emailed and told them to please add that to my order, and they got back a few hours later and said they had. Phew! I was a little worried I'd screwed it up already. I think their response time bodes well, and I can't wait to get them in a week or two. If this works out, I'll probably get some sunglasses for biking/ driving/beaching, etc. Thanks for the site, and all the helpful discussion; I'll report back when my glasses arrive. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ Check us out at the oft-updated http://www.glassyeyes.com!
