Wal Mart employees are not on commission. There are mild "incentives" to do business. But, basically, they try to provide a decent service at a decent price. The doctors are mostly independent, which means they pay rent for the spot and pocket the rest. They, as well as staff, as people are people , some will be ok and some wont.
Dont forget, optical is a tiny little service and product they sell usually by the front door and their main business means much more, so complaints are taken seriously, so most just oblige. Not the worst place for an Eye Doc, maybe the best if you but business sense and work into it.
