I do like the idea that Fred had for outfitting kids in schools with inexpensive eyeglasses at low profit margins. That would be a way to get high volume with low overhead in a hurry. Plus you'd be doing such a great service for children. Word of mouth advertising would be explosive! On the for-profit side you could really create a name for yourself with something like "Half Price Eyeglasses". Essentially you would guarantee you could get someone a pair of glasses in a style that they like for half the price of the usual places. They would need to go to a traditional eyeglass store, select a frame they liked, get a quote with frame style and manufacturer number and bring it to your store.
