Most semi-rimless do have that clear plastic 'string' (monofilament,
similar to fishing line) that fits into a small groove on the bottom
of the lenses. This material is usually very strong and shouldn't
break.
I've never had a Zenni frame break on me so I can't comment on their
repair policy. Try calling them at 9:00 am Pacific Time. That's when
the phone banks open and I've always gotten through at that time of
day.
