I wouldn't pay an exam fee just to get the PD. Most optometrists don't even measure the PD. They let the optical shop you buy your glasses from handle that.
If your Wal-Mart has a optical shop, go in and act like your thinking of purchasing glasses from them. When they put that thing that looks sorta like binoculars to your eyes, try and see what they write down. If you can't see it, just act all curious about what that machine is for and what it does. When they tell you its tells how far apart your pupils are, just say "how far apart are they?" (memorize number) Then say you've always thought one of your eyes looked closer to your nose than the other, and is that number symetrical, or isone of my closer than the other. If yes, "really? by how much?" Memorize the diffrence and for each eye or write them down. Remember, they're there to sell, sell, SELL!!! So act like you're gonna buy, buy, BUY!!! Once you have the numbers, take a look at all their frames and then just tel them you don't see anything you like and you're going to shop around before making a descion. Be like a politician, use subterfuge and misdirection to your advantage. ;) Heck, they're YOUR eyes. Why shouldn't they tell you how far apart they are?
