I've done "a lot" of research on Luxottica (http://suxottica.com) and never have I heard of a connection between the two. Walmart itself mentions it as their "Optical Division".
While I suppose it may be possible that there may be some rogue store inside a Walmart, I'd be quite shocked. Anything beyond that would have been an enormous story. - Ira On Mar 2, 9:20 am, Chuck Knight <[email protected]> wrote: > Hmmm...I actually asked one of the girls at WalMart Optical, and she told me > that they were owned independently from the store, by a conglomerate called > Luxottica. > > Hmmm... > > Maybe they recently divested themselves of the WM Optical chain? > > -- Chuck Knight > > On Mon, Mar 2, 2009 at 7:57 AM, Ira Mitchell <[email protected]> wrote: > > > Actually, Walmart and Sams aren't on that list (http://suxottica.com/ > > index.php/luxottica-brands-lenscrafters-oakley-ray-ban/5/) -- they're > > owned wholly by the world's largest public corporation. > > > Honestly, as someone who has had an improperly made pair from one of > > these brick and mortar retailers, I don't think they're any better at > > any of this than the online places. > > > - Ira > > > On Mar 1, 3:19 pm, Chuck <[email protected]> wrote: > > > WalMart,Sams, and Target Optical are all owned by the same > > > conglomerate...Luxottica.
