You can use this tool to tell lens thickness with many popular lens
materials:
http://www.opticampus.com/tools/thickness.php

You're going to need to know a few measurements, such as how wide the
lenses are, what your PD (distance between pupils) is and such to use
it though.
If you pick out a style of frames you like online, they should have
all those measurements there, except for your PD.
