Since I have a kind of wide head I've always used frame width as the first criteria for my online glasses, with pretty good success.
I was wondering, however, how wide I can go withoutthe glasses falling off my noggin or making me look clownish. I'm a guy and my standard width is 139/140mm. There are some interesting frames in the 145mm range.
