Hi, I'm a medical student working on a project using low cost ready- made glasses to treat refractive error. I am currently trying to price out glasses with the same prescription in each eye and no cylinder as treating astygmatism is out of our league at this level. Positive (+) diopter glasses run extremely cheap ($1-2) because these prescriptions are widely produced for reading glasses. Negative (-) diopter glasses, on the other hand, currently look to cost us around $15. With all these low cost sites available I am wondering if anybody could suggest reputable options that could possibly give us lower prices. This is not just idle curiosity, we are looking to buy several thousand pairs of glasses in a range of prescriptive powers. A pilot project in developing countries has been succesful and we are looking to expand our program to better anaylze the effectiveness. Thanks for your help!
