I wear progressives and during  the last visit to the optometrist she held
my glasses up and read off a number. Too small for me to see but definitely
in the glass and not on the frame.  I think it's a laser etched note of the
amount of add for the reading portion.  It wasn't a brand mark.  More an
optometrists/manufacturers standard of some sort.
