PC has the worst optical quality. I don't use progressives but if I
did there's no way I'd select PC (I've had it in the past and am not
doing it again). You can google polycarbonate optical quality and get
some information on the various lens materials but here's one link

I don't use PC in any of my glasses. BUT whether it's acceptable for
*you* and not *me* is going to depend on your prescription and your
sensitivity to the aberrations. Also it is often recommended where
safety might be super important eg someone who only has good vision in
one eye or children who fall over, might get hit in the face by sports
bats etc. For optics though, I wouldn't do it, and I have a moderate
prescription (the worst of it is a -2.75 cyl in one eye).
