Hello, After joining this forum for a month or so and looking at various reviews, I finally decided to give it a try. I ordered a pair of single vision glasses with photochromic lenses on goggles4u. I found that they have the more competitive price on photochromic lenses. And.. this is also the first time I ordered photochromic lenses!
My single vision is not serious (and that is all I have), so I always think that it is way too expensive to buy glasses in the stores. NOT TO SAY THAT there're not many frames (except the real expensive ones) that are suitable for my relatively big female face/ head! For the past 2 times I went to 2 different optometrists to buy my glasses, I found that there are only about 5 frames within my price range (under $200) that are suitable for my face (they don't look so good... just the size is ok). And in the second store, that sales lady simple said that "these glasses aren't suitable for you" without any other suggestions. So to speak, I was really pissed off and disappointed about the poor selection and services at the optomestrist. So enough background... that's why I want to give it a try online. I found goggles4u. There are tons of selections of frames of various sizes. The problem is they are a little hard to search. I would prefer that if they can put different sizes/ colors of the same frame in the same listing. And if they let me delete the frames I put into "My Favorite". But this is just a little hassle. After a looooooooong time of searching, I finally decided on a pair of plastic frame glasses that are closest to my size. I've always wanted a pair of plastic frame glasses that are my size and within my price range but I couldn't find even one!!! (not even 1 within my price range!!!) Now I found several on goggles4u!!! Finally I ordered them on Oct 16, which was Friday afternoon. I heard that it will take about 2 weeks for the glasses to arrive. But I was thinking that my presciption is so simple that it may be faster. Man I was right! My glasses were shipped on Monday, Oct 19!!! That was faster than I thought!!! But the thing I didn't like is they did NOT send me a notification/ email after my glasses are shipped. I only found this out on their website. And the only status they showed me was "shipped". They could have provided better service, even if they don't have a tracking number ( they may not have one cuz they are shipped from Asia?). But anyways... I got my glasses this Saturday, Oct 24! This is super fast! On the box it shows that they are shipped from CA, and I live in CA. I don't think my glasses are made in CA, but this is amazingly fast shipping! Even the optomestrists I went to took about the same time to make my glasses (5 business days)... yes they are sooooooo slow even though the lenses are made here?! The most amazing thing is that the glasses fit me so well right out of the box (Did I say they look good too? :P)! Even they're not springloaded (goggles4u don't have many larger springloaded frames), I feel comfy wearing them. And the photochromic lenses work! Yes they don't get very dark (I ordered the brown lenses), but they are enough for me. And they only cost me about $35 including shipping & everything!!! Can you believe that???!!!
