Thanks Paul. The nose pads are the problem. Too much lens weight, movement and lack of temple "ear wrap" causes my nose irritation. I've tried larger and silicone nose pads, same problem exists. That's why I am seeking a plastic frame, much better comfort.
The extra wide bridge is because I move the lenses as close to my eyes as possible. This is due to my high plus correction, it feels much better the closer I bring the lenses to my eyes. A narrow bridge cannot do this without placing the frames much too high on my nose bridge. Since I have a plus correction, I need the lenses to sit at the median line and below (since I'm looking close and down) - where nearsighted people prefer lenses centered on the median line (since you're looking far away). I've tried on dozens of frames recently and the very few that work best had a bridge of 20 or above. Of course, the bridge dimension varies by frame, a Nike 18mm might be a Modo 20mm... My ideal total front width is 132-135mm. While I agree that the temples should be exactly parallel as a general rule, in my case that doesn't work - unless I have a small amount of wrap - there is too much open space at the outer corners. Thank you for your help. J. Evan On Oct 29, 6:11 am, Paul <[email protected]> wrote: > Can you get a plastic frame with adjustable nose pads? > > Wider bridges are pretty hard to find.
