The glass lenses do look little thinner than the plastic ones, but
much heavier. So, you should try higher index lens since you think
your current lens is still thick. A small full-frame can hide the
thick edge of the lens. However, the hight of the frame should be 32mm
at least to accommodate the bifocal/progressives. You may try two
pairs of single vision lens, one to see far, the other to see
near.Both of them can have a nice look.
