I have bought a pair of glasses online prior to this and I'd like to repeat the experience, but this time with some rimless frames. The rimless choices provided by many of the sites seem underwhelming to me, though. Specifically, it seems that most of the online retailers offer only a set lens shape with each of their frame models, with the exceptions being Zenni and Optical4Less, which are flexible about the shape of lens attached to any given rimless frame. I'd really like to be able to select lens shape X for use with frame Y, creating exactly the glasses I want.
Am I missing something? Is there a way to order the shape of lens I want for any given rimless frame on the US-based sites? Or can I only get exactly what I want (in this instance, anyway) by going overseas? I'd rather keep the transaction in the USA if I can... If I'm not missing anything and I understand the situation correctly, why does this situation exist? I'd be curious as to the reasons why the US companies can't mix-and-match frames and lens shapes the way Zenni can. I would think the option of doing this would be popular among consumers.
