I do appreciate that you had a bad experience at an optical center, but GO
TO AN OPTICAL DISPENSARY! They're trained to know what to do in these
situations. They may or may not charge you. If they don't, offer to pay
them for their time. They are professionals, and performed work for you.
I know that you're afraid to let them anywhere near your glasses, so it
might help if you just called one, told them what is going on, and asked for
a suggestion.
You've said it yourself...these are your first nosepad glasses, and you
genuinely don't know how they're supposed to fit. How can you adjust them
to fit correctly, if you don't know what it means to have them fit?
Do you know anyone who could recommend a good dispensary that's local to
you? I found two well-established (old) dispensaries in my area that are
very good at adjustments, but I'm in Texas.
